PE spinning disk confocalThe Perkin-Elmer UltraView VoX spinning disk Spinning Disk Confocal with FRAP System employs Improvision Volocity software for instrument control and image processing.

The PE system boasts a broad selection of laser lines for fluorescent excitation; 405nm, 440nm, 488nm, 514nm, 561nm and 640nm lasers. There are also complimentary emission filters for DAPI, CFP, GFP, YFP, Rhodamine, Texas Red and far red (greater than 700nm) emitters. Filters are being added and updated continuously, depending upon client needs. Give us call to find out what is currently installed.

The UltraView is based on the new Yokogawa CSU-X1 scan head, modified by PE to ensure exceptional power delivery of all laser lines. The customized Hamamatsu 9100-02 electon multiplier CCD camera delivers 1k X 1k, imaged to Shannon-Nyquist specifications for the 63X objectives, providing a larger field of view than the Quorum system.

The spinning disk system uses the Leica DMI6000 inverted microscope, equipped with basic filter cubes for sample queuing. Multi-immersion 20X, 40X oil, 63X glycerol and 63X oil objectives are available. A 10X phase contrast can be used for imaging or sample alignment.

FRAP: The Perkin Elmer system is equipped with a FRAP point scan module, allowing user defined pattern bleaching or photo activation. Importantly, the module can use any one of the individual laser lines.
